The need for employers to find a qualified workforce is growing in alongside with the construction industry’s ongoing growth.

According to a report published by BuildForce Canada in 2021, the country’s construction industry is expected to lose 300,000 workers by 2030. The ongoing pandemic’s effects have made it more difficult to recruit skilled workers to fill gaps and meet demand.

Although this issue has had a nationwide impact, British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia most acutely felt the shortage of workers. Given the federal government’s $180 billion commitment to infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and water treatment facilities, a shortage of labor could affect the availability of contractors and subcontractors to complete the work.

Employers may benefit from making it easier for workers to transmit their skills between provinces, but the use of foreign workers in Canada to supplement their workforces may also be worth exploring.

With this, we have gathered a list of construction job openings that are currently available from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).
